A Stitch & A Prayer: Folks gather at 10 am on the first Wednesday of each month to knit Prayer Shawls and Cancer Caps for member and non-members who are recovering from an illness or dealing with a terminal illness. Knowing how to knit or crochet is not required. We have yarn, patterns, needles and lots of prayer and fellowship to share!
Caregivers Support Groups: Taking care of loved ones who are ill or dealing with a variety of medical issues is difficult. Our general Caregiver Support Group meets the fourth Sunday of each month from 5:30-7 in the Bride’s Room. Our Spouse Caregiver Support Group meets the third Sunday of each month from 3-4:30pm in the Bride’s room. These groups provide an opportunity for caregivers to share their story and receive unconditional love and support from others.
Grief Support Group: Grieving? The Grief Support Group provides a confidential, structured environment to explore the complex feelings that accompany the loss of a loved one. Led by Stephen Ministers and the associate pastor for Congregational Care, the group meets in the evenings once a week during the Fall season.
Lotsa Helping Hands: When a church member is in need of a meal or a ride to the doctor or has another need, we will list the ways you can help. If you would like to help with a particular need, you can join this community, where you will have access to the calendar. If you would like to be notified when there is a new need posted, please sign up for updates. We hope this site will allow members of our congregation to be involved in caring for one another and building up the community of Christ.
Prayer Chain: Prayer nurtures our relationship with God and God’s people. Praying together, we discover that Christ is present, binding us in a community of faith. When we pray for others, we discover a new dimension of the discipline of prayer. One of the ways in which we pray for others in the life of the church is through our email Prayer Chain that goes out whenever prayer requests are made. Please call the church office if you would like to be added to the prayer chain distribution list and contact a pastor if you have a prayer request for the prayer chain.
Prayer Chapel and Columbarium: Located near the sanctuary is our prayer chapel which includes a columbarium. The chapel is a special place for anyone and everyone to connect with God, to be in prayer with the Holy as soon as they cross the threshold—to find one’s self over and over again in the presence of our Creator, Redeemer and Healer. The columbarium is a group of small compartments or “niches” designed to hold the cremated remains of loved ones who have died. It can be a place of remembrance, contemplation, meditation and prayer.
