EXTENDED SESSION is provided during the 8:30 and 11:00 worship services for 2 and 3 year olds . The 4 year olds and kindergartners attend worship until after the Children’s Sermon. At that point, parents are invited to bring them to the church school classrooms for their own Extended Session.
WORSHIP CLIPBOARDS for elementary children can be found in baskets
outside the sanctuary. These are to help children
more age-appropriately participate in worship.
GET READY!
GET SET!
WORSHIP! Annually, in the fall, first
graders and their parents
participate in a series on
worship education, “Get
Ready! Get Set! Worship!”
The best way for
children to learn how to
worship is to participate in
worship. In order to help children and parents learn
to worship well together we offer this worship
education program. The series explores different
parts of the worship service including communion
and baptism.
PARTICIPATION IN THE
LORD’S SUPPER
in the Presbyterian Church (USA) is extended to all
who have been baptized. Each Fall, first graders
and their parents participate in a worship education
series, “Get Ready! Get Set! Worship!” After
completion of the classes children are welcomed
with their new understands to the Table on the first
Sunday in September.
ACOLYTES are fourth and fifth graders who help lead worship
by lighting the candles and then recessing with the
light at the end of the service. These children attend
a special worship training class.
